W.H.O INTRODUCES RESPIRATORY DISEASE VIRTUAL COURSE

In response to the wave of respiratory tract disease outbreaks in Wuhan China and various parts of the world, the World Health Organisation (WHO) is organising a virtual course on "Emerging respiratory viruses, including nCoV: methods for detection, prevention, response and control".

The course provides a general introduction to emerging respiratory viruses, including novel coronaviruses.
By the end of this course, participants should be able to describe:
  • The nature of emerging respiratory viruses, how to detect and assess an outbreak, strategies for preventing and controlling outbreaks due to novel respiratory viruses;
  • What strategies should be used to communicate risk and engage communities to detect, prevent and respond to the emergence of a novel respiratory virus.

The three modules course outline, fitted in to approximately 1Hour, will equip participants with adequate knowledge on how to describe the fundamental principles of emerging respiratory viruses,  and how to effectively respond to an outbreak.

The free course is open to all but  you must register for an account on OpenWHO to take the course
